Laura Sutherland has been involved with various organizations over the years. In addition to lesbian groups, she was involved with the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center, and was one of the primary forces in the early years of the Milwaukee LGBT History Project.

But Laura's primary organizational involvement has been in western dancing, specifically the Shoreline Dancers. She has served in various roles in that club.

 		 

Sutherland (left) presents a check for $500 to Milwaukee LGBT Community Center Co-President Sheila Zelenski. Shoreline donated the proceeds from their 1998 Spring Round-Up raffle. Over 250 people from Milwaukee and the Midwest attended Shoreline's three-day country dance weekend round-up.
