Station II- The Eastern Connection was opened late in October 1987 by Lois & Sheri, a larger and better environment than their first bar, Gay Street Station. (They had planned to open in time to hold a "Sweetest Day" event on October 17, but weren't able to open until a few days later. They were open in time for Halloween (In Step v4-19). The bar celebrated its fifth anniversary on October 30, 1992 (IS SO 9-23). By early 1994 the bar was being listed as simply "Station 2", and advertising tapered off, although the bar continued to be listed in the Bar Guides through early January 2001 (IS v18-02). Ten months later, the bar was apparently replaced (in November 2001) with a new bar named "Off The Tracks" (IS v18-23) in the same location, but we have no information about whether it was by new owners or what the circumstances were. That bar was short-lived however, having its last night on December 31, 2002 (a New Year's Eve party). More information about this business is welcomed from anyone who can contribute it. |
