D's Place was a lesbian bar on the north side of Milwaukee. It first advertised with a "Grand Opening" ad in Q-Voice magazine vol. 2 no.10 calling itself "A bar for women" and the tagline "Good Company & Good Times".

The bar was listed in the "The Guide" starting with the August 7-20, 1997 (v14-16) issue of In-Step newspaper, which also began listing the bar under "Daily Specials". Those listings indicated it as "Wm DJ" (primarily women but also men, DJ certain nights spinning music.). Specials were almost invariably shown for each day of the week as "4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Cans or bottles of beer for $1.30 (except for premium beer). Shots: Bottom Shelf $2, Middle $2.50, Top $3.25. Rail Drinks $1.50."

The bar was short-lived however: by the end of 1997 "Daily Special" listings had tapered away, and the last listing in the Guide was in the March 19-April 1, 1998 (v15-06) issue of In-Step.

More information about this business is welcomed from anyone who can contribute it. (The location has been a vacant lot since at least 2006, so we have no image of the building yet.)
