Very little is known about Bill Coerper's 5 O'Clock Club as an LGBT destination. The "Five O'Clock Steakhouse" was still open as of mid-2024, listed in 2024 as "old-school supper club serving upscale steakhouse fare in a wood-accented venue since 1946". We assume it was at least friendly to LGBTQ business in 1979, as they did take out at least one full-page ad in a local LGBTQ periodical that year.

We have located a single advertisement for it in LGBT media: a full-page ad in the Milwaukee Calendar vol. 2-46 (Nov. 1979). The ad indicates they opened for cocktails at 4pm, and lists "Subperb cocktails" along with various sample menu items. The ad is incomplete in the copy of the publication that we have, but we can make out "Live entertainment", "Inquire about our party room" and the address.

More information about this business, or Bill Coerper, is welcomed from anyone who can contribute it.
