The History Display shared the building in 2006 with the Milwaukee Gay Arts Center, which also showcased various art work (much of it available for sale) and several artistic performances in the space, along with a wine bar. The History Display at PrideFest 2006 included these components:

• Interactive Timeline: a decade by decade, year-by-year timeline of major events in the LGBT history of Milwaukee and Wisconsin, juxtaposed with some major national events. As with the first Timeline display in 2005, many people spent some time reading all the entries, and more than a few took time to add their own recollections and comments in given year blocks. Even more people than last year were observed returning later with friends to share the experience.

• Display of Entertainment Flyers from 50 years of entertainment (movies, plays, concerts, etc.) culled from Jerry Johnson's collection- enough to cover four walls! This year posters and other items from the movie Brokeback Mountain were of particular interest. Photos

• Video presentation: the History Project compiled a selection of historical news footage documenting the emerging gay/lesbian community in Milwaukee in the 1970s. Much of this footage touched on topics of social equality raised by the early "gay rights movement" such as marriage equality, military service, and police entrapment. The footage was culled from the news film archives of WTMJ-TV, which is administered by the Archives Department at the University of Wisconsin--Milwaukee. Photos

An estimated 5,500-6,000 people came through the Milwaukee Gay Arts/ History Building at PrideFest 2006.
