Michail Takach, who began working with thios web site around 2012, and also began writing articles for publications such as LGBT periodicals as Quest and Q-Life News, as well as LGBT articles for the "OnMilwaukee" website. In his quest for more knowledge of LGBT history in Wisconsin, he has been doing extensive research on early LGBT hangouts and life, and as a result authored the book titled "LGBT Milwaukee" in 2016 (part of the "Images of Modern America" series from Arcadia Publishing). A large number of bar pages on this site were able to be updated using information uncovered for that book, which was sold as a fundraiser for Milwaukee Pride, Inc. and PrideFest. The book received high praise, and Michail was in great demand to give talks about his research and the book at book stores and libraries. There was extensive coverage in the media, including the following:
Innterview on WUWM, NPR radio: "'LGBT Milwaukee' Showcases a Once Hidden History" (Aug 25, 2016)
The following is an index of references within the book.
