Memories in La Crosse first appeared in Wisconsin LGBT media in 'In Step' magazine vol. 4-20 (November 1987), appearing regularly in the In Step "Guide' listings through v10-01 (December 1992), after which it disappears. It also appears in national Gay Guides from 1989 through 1991 (after which we no longer track national guides, instead relying on Wisconsin LGBT media).

Although we have not yet located any advertisements for 'Memories' in WIsconsin LGBT media, it is mentioned in various articles and photos from contests and parties, shown below.

We have a report that the bar was owned by David Groom (per Victor M. Marcias-Gonzalez, professor of history at UW-La Crosse).
